Agenda:
9:50 a.m. Zoom open for check-in and introductions
10 a.m. Navigating Career Transitions: Expert Insights and Personal
Join us for a panel discussion on career transitions. Hear from attorneys who have successfully shifted careers and learn from an expert career coach who will guide the conversation with practical advice and professional insights.
11 a.m. Living on the Edge: Booze, Drugs, Sex, & Gambling (Who's Bringing the Chips & Dip?)
This panel will explore the range of addictive behaviors individuals adopt as coping mechanisms in response to life stressors. It will examine both the commonalities and distinctions among these behaviors, as well as their broader implications for mental health and overall well-being. Special emphasis will be placed on the legal profession, where high stress levels, perfectionist tendencies, and cultural norms can contribute to distinct patterns of addiction. The discussion will also highlight pathways to healthier, more sustainable coping strategies.
12 p.m. The Complexity of Loss — The Power of Hope
The session will explore how the universal experience of loss can show up in many ways and be felt differently by each of us. We will look at the harm inherent in the idea that 'you/I shouldn’t feel this way,' and discuss ways hope can be used as a tool for empowerment.
1 p.m. From Getting By to Breaking Free: Strategies for Managing Anxiety in Law and Life
This program is designed to help manage anxiety in challenging situations, both personally and professionally. It will provide simple, effective tools to shift from merely surviving to feeling more confident, calm, and resilient.
2 p.m. Building Your Resilience Plan
This interactive session will focus on developing a personalized resilience plan to navigate challenging times. It will provide practical tools and strategies to help you strengthen your well-being.
2:35 p.m. Meditation Wrap-up
Mindfulness meditation helps calm our nervous system, reduce stress and improve focus. Please stay with us as we close out the 2025 Well-Being Summit with a guided meditation by lawyer and meditator Joel West Williams.
